David Linehan

David Linehan was a Plan II student as an undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin where he received his B.A. with Special Honors in Liberal Arts and his B.B.A. with Honors in Finance in 1993. He received his J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 1998. During law school, David was Chief Articles Editor for the Review, was a finalist in the Charles Wilson Mock Trial Competition and clerked for Justice Catherine M. Stone of the Texas Fourth Court of Appeals in San Antonio.

Since joining Preston Gates and Ellis in Seattle, Washington, David has developed a broad commercial litigation practice, with a particular concentration on complex antitrust, intellectual property, and business tort cases. Since graduating from the University of Texas School of Law in 1998, David has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, ranging in scale from massive, nationwide and statewide antitrust class actions and MDL proceedings involving the pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries, to smaller breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and insurance coverage disputes. David also has developed significant appellate expertise, having briefed and argued cases of first impression before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Missouri Court of Appeals, and having filed a petition for writ of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court.
